My Pictures 1

My childhood building, Kremenchuk, watercolours, 1981





I lived here from 1950 to 1962, until our family  moved. The building detail is not quite accurate, making the building an exaggeratedly plush mansion. You will see why by comparing the picture with this photo below.

You see that the building looks different. Its shabbiness and desolation are besides the point. The structural detail in the watercolours picture is inaccurate. Forgivable for an artist. It's not a photograph. It's an impression with emotions attached. By the way, a photographed part of a newer building to the left is  Ontario Hotel. It's funny, I live in Ontario now.
